Applicants will need to create an account with the Idaho Real Estate Commission to complete the licensure process.

Salesperson Examination: The exam consists of 80 general practice questions and 40 state-specific questions.
Broker Examination: The exam consists of 80 general practice questions and 50 state-specific questions.
Exams are given on a computer and candidates will have 4 hours to complete the exam.
There are five primary testing locations in Idaho: Boise, Coeur d'Alene, Nampa, Pocatello, and Twin Falls. Candidates may also take the exam in Spokane, Washington.

Because there are different versions of the real estate exams and all exams have different questions with varying degrees of difficulty, a method known as equating is used to determine grades. This is done so that no candidate has an unfair advantage or disadvantage. The examination score is reported as a scaled score on a scale of 0-100.
Salesperson Examination: A passing score is 70 or higher.
Broker Examination: A passing score is 75 or higher.
All candidates must present 2 forms of current signature identification. The primary identification must be government-issued, photo-bearing, and include a signature. The secondary identification must include a signature. The name on both the primary and secondary identification must match the name on the exam registration.
