ILLINOIS REAL ESTATE LICENSE RENEWAL
In Illinois, real estate professionals are required to complete continuing education (CE) every two years. For brokers, the requirement is 12 hours of CE, which includes a 4-hour Core Course and 8 hours of elective courses. The elective courses must include a mandatory 1-hour Sexual Harassment Prevention Training. Brokers must renew their licenses by April 30th of even-numbered years.
Managing brokers, on the other hand, must complete 24 hours of continuing education every two years. This includes a 12-hour Broker Management Course, a 4-hour Core Course, and 8 hours of elective courses, with at least 1 hour dedicated to Sexual Harassment Prevention Training. Managing brokers must renew their licenses by April 30th of odd-numbered years.
All CE courses must be completed and reported to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) before that date.
