Sign up for the required number of CE hours specific to your state’s regulations before your license renewal deadline. Each state mandates different requirements, typically including a mix of mandatory and elective courses to keep you informed about updates in laws, ethics, and industry standards.
CE courses can typically be completed online, in-person, or through live virtual formats, depending on your state’s approved options. Ensure you fulfill both core and elective requirements within the designated timeframe, covering subjects relevant to your practice and state guidelines.
After completing the courses, your education provider will usually report your credits directly to your state’s real estate licensing authority. Be sure to keep your certificates of completion and renew your license through your state’s portal before it expires to stay in compliance.

Salespersons and brokers in Nebraska must complete 18 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years to maintain an active license.
Of these 18 hours, at least 6 must be designated “R” courses, covering core topics such as agency, fair housing, ethics, and risk management; the remaining twelve hours can be “G” courses addressing subjects like marketing, technology, and property management.
The renewal deadline is November 30 of the second year in the license cycle. Failure to meet the CE requirement by this date can result in inactive status and late fees.
Licensees must complete any outstanding hours and pay all applicable fees to regain active status. Because requirements may change, it is advisable to confirm current rules and approved courses with the Nebraska Real Estate Commission or an authorized education provider.
