Sign up for the required number of CE hours specific to your state’s regulations before your license renewal deadline. Each state mandates different requirements, typically including a mix of mandatory and elective courses to keep you informed about updates in laws, ethics, and industry standards.
CE courses can typically be completed online, in-person, or through live virtual formats, depending on your state’s approved options. Ensure you fulfill both core and elective requirements within the designated timeframe, covering subjects relevant to your practice and state guidelines.
After completing the courses, your education provider will usually report your credits directly to your state’s real estate licensing authority. Be sure to keep your certificates of completion and renew your license through your state’s portal before it expires to stay in compliance.

In Delaware, real estate professionals are required to complete 21 hours of continuing education (CE) every two years to maintain an active license. These 21 hours are divided into seven 3-hour modules, each covering specific topics such as agency and fair housing, professional standards, real estate documents, office management, legislative issues, and general real estate practices. One of the seven modules is an elective, allowing licensees to select from a variety of approved subjects relevant to their area of practice.
License renewal deadlines in Delaware generally fall on April 30 of even-numbered years, and all CE hours must be completed before this date. Failure to meet CE requirements by the expiration date can result in late fees or placement of the license on inactive status. To reactivate an inactive license, all outstanding CE requirements must be fulfilled and any associated fees must be paid.
