In Florida, real estate professionals must complete specific continuing education (CE) requirements based on their license type and renewal cycle:

Post-Licensing Requirements

• Sales Associates: 45-hour post-licensing course before the first renewal (18-24 months after initial license date).
• Brokers: 60-hour post-licensing course before the first renewal (18-24 months after initial license date).

Continuing Education Requirements

After the first renewal, licensees must complete 14 hours of CE every two years:

• 3 hours of Florida Core Law
• 3 hours of Ethics and Business Practices
• 8 hours of Specialty Courses

Deadlines & Submission

• Renewal deadlines are either March 31st or September 30th, depending on the license issue date.
• Credits must be reported to the Florida DBPR before the renewal deadline to maintain active status.
• If CE requirements aren’t met by the deadline, the license becomes inactive. Licensees have up to two years to complete the CE and reinstate their license. After two years, the license expires and reapplication is required.
